Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 4, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Verhoven Next Gen website and your application for, booking of, purchase of, and participation in training, coaching, mentorship, assessments, and related player-development services provided by Verhoven Next Gen ("Verhoven Next Gen," "we," "us," or "our").

If the athlete is under the age of majority, the athlete's parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on the athlete's behalf where required.

Certain longer-term training arrangements may also be subject to specific written program agreements and mandatory consumer protection requirements under British Columbia law.

1. About Verhoven Next Gen

Verhoven Next Gen provides private football development and related coaching services in Cloverdale, British Columbia and surrounding areas.

Services may include:

  • private 1-on-1 football training;
  • small-group training;
  • trial sessions;
  • multi-session training;
  • 3-month development programs;
  • 6-month development programs;
  • technical assessments;
  • game footage review;
  • mentorship;
  • football-specific physical and technical development; and
  • other related athlete-development services.

Available services, schedules, coaches, locations, prices, and program structures may change for future bookings.

2. Application of these Terms

These Terms apply to:

  • use of our website;
  • training applications;
  • trial sessions;
  • individual training bookings;
  • group training;
  • multi-session packages;
  • development programs; and
  • other services offered by Verhoven Next Gen.

A specific booking or program may also have additional written terms.

If a specific written program agreement conflicts with these general Terms, the specific agreement will govern the relevant service except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

3. Athletes under the age of majority

For athletes who are minors, a parent or legal guardian may be required to:

  • submit or approve the application;
  • provide accurate information;
  • accept these Terms;
  • enter into the applicable program agreement;
  • authorize participation;
  • authorize payment;
  • provide emergency contact information;
  • provide legally required consents; and
  • communicate with Verhoven Next Gen concerning the athlete.

Nothing in these Terms reduces any rights or protections that apply to minors under law.

4. Training applications

Applications must contain information that is accurate and complete to the best of the applicant's knowledge.

We may contact the athlete or parent or guardian to discuss matters such as:

  • playing experience;
  • current club;
  • playing level;
  • position;
  • goals;
  • availability;
  • training frequency;
  • program suitability; and
  • other reasonably relevant information.

Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance.

We may decline an application for legitimate reasons including:

  • lack of capacity;
  • scheduling limitations;
  • unsuitable program fit;
  • athlete safety;
  • facility limitations; or
  • serious conduct concerns.

5. Bookings

A training session is confirmed only when Verhoven Next Gen confirms the booking through the applicable booking or communication method.

Athletes and parents or guardians are responsible for checking:

  • date;
  • time;
  • location;
  • equipment requirements; and
  • any specific instructions.

6. Program agreements

Longer-term or continuing programs may require a separate written program agreement.

That agreement should identify the material terms applicable to the program, which may include:

  • supplier and business name;
  • date of the agreement;
  • athlete or purchaser;
  • detailed description of the training services;
  • program start date;
  • expected completion date;
  • number or frequency of sessions;
  • period over which sessions are expected to be delivered;
  • total price;
  • taxes and other charges;
  • payment schedule;
  • promotional terms;
  • restrictions or limitations;
  • cancellation policy;
  • refund policy;
  • renewal terms, if any; and
  • statutory cancellation rights where applicable.

These Terms are not intended to replace information that British Columbia law requires to be included in a specific consumer contract.

7. 3-month and 6-month programs

Verhoven Next Gen may offer 3-month and 6-month development programs.

Before entering a paid program, the participant or purchaser will be informed of the material terms applicable to that program, including its duration, price, payment structure, expected training frequency, and major inclusions.

Where a program is a "fitness or other personal services contract" or another regulated consumer contract under British Columbia law, applicable statutory requirements and cancellation rights apply and prevail over any inconsistent provision of these Terms.

8. Free trial sessions

Where advertised, a free trial is intended to allow an eligible athlete to experience the Verhoven Next Gen training environment and receive an initial assessment or feedback.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • an advertised free trial does not require payment;
  • participation does not require the athlete to purchase a future program;
  • availability may be limited;
  • eligibility may be limited to new athletes; and
  • promotional trial offers may be changed or discontinued for future applicants.

Completion of a trial does not guarantee acceptance into a paid development program.

9. Pricing

Prices for paid services will be communicated before a booking or program is confirmed.

Unless otherwise stated, prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes will be charged where required.

The specific program or booking may state:

  • total price;
  • deposit;
  • instalment amount;
  • payment dates;
  • payment method; and
  • any applicable promotion or discount.

10. Payment

Clients are responsible for paying amounts when due under the applicable booking or program agreement.

If a required payment is overdue, Verhoven Next Gen may pause future services after reasonable notice where permitted by law.

Nothing in this section permits us to retain money or impose a charge where doing so would conflict with a statutory cancellation or refund right.

11. British Columbia fitness or personal services contracts

Certain continuing football training programs offered by Verhoven Next Gen may qualify as "fitness or other personal services contracts" under the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act and Consumer Contracts Regulation of British Columbia.

Where those rules apply, they form part of the agreement whether or not repeated in full in these Terms.

12. 10-day statutory cancellation right

Where a program qualifies as a fitness or other personal services contract under British Columbia law, the consumer may cancel the contract by giving notice to Verhoven Next Gen no later than 10 days after the consumer receives a copy of the contract.

A consumer exercising this statutory 10-day cancellation right is not required to provide a reason.

Any refund owing following a valid statutory cancellation will be handled in accordance with applicable British Columbia law.

13. Other statutory cancellation rights

Additional cancellation rights may apply under British Columbia law.

For example, where applicable, a consumer may have a right to cancel if there is a qualifying material change in:

  • the consumer's circumstances; or
  • the services provided by Verhoven Next Gen.

Examples recognized by applicable law may include certain situations involving:

  • death;
  • a qualifying physical, medical, or mental disability;
  • relocation that materially increases the distance between the consumer and the service provider;
  • discontinuation or substantial unavailability of the contracted services;
  • inability to reasonably complete the services within the required period; or
  • relocation of the supplier's facility in circumstances covered by law.

The applicable legislation determines whether a specific situation qualifies and what refund, deduction, or other remedy applies.

14. Contract content and copy requirements

Where British Columbia consumer contract rules apply, Verhoven Next Gen will provide required contract information in a clear and comprehensible manner.

A future performance contract must be provided to the consumer within the period required by applicable law.

Failure to provide required contractual information or a required copy of the contract may give the consumer additional cancellation rights. Nothing in these Terms limits such rights.

15. Duration of regulated programs

Where a program is regulated as a fitness or other personal services contract, its duration and renewal terms will comply with applicable British Columbia law.

A regulated fitness or personal services contract will not purport to bind the consumer beyond the maximum period permitted by law.

16. No waiver of consumer rights

No cancellation policy, "non-refundable" term, missed-session policy, package rule, or other provision of these Terms overrides a statutory right provided by British Columbia law.

Where a mandatory legal right applies, that right prevails.

17. Voluntary cancellation policy

In addition to statutory cancellation rights, Verhoven Next Gen may establish booking-specific or program-specific cancellation and rescheduling policies.

Any such policy applicable to a paid service should be communicated before or when the booking or program is confirmed.

The voluntary cancellation policy is separate from statutory rights.

18. Session cancellations and rescheduling by athletes

Athletes should provide as much notice as reasonably possible if they cannot attend a scheduled session.

A specific program or booking may establish reasonable rules relating to:

  • cancellation notice;
  • rescheduling;
  • missed sessions;
  • late cancellation;
  • no-shows; and
  • credits or make-up sessions.

Where a paid program is subject to statutory consumer protections, these operational rules do not override mandatory cancellation or refund rights.

19. Cancellations by Verhoven Next Gen

We may need to cancel, move, or reschedule a session because of:

  • coach illness or unavailability;
  • unsafe conditions;
  • field closures;
  • facility closures;
  • severe weather;
  • air-quality concerns;
  • emergencies; or
  • other reasonable operational circumstances.

Where practical, we will provide notice and attempt to offer a make-up session, rescheduling option, credit, or other appropriate remedy.

20. Weather and field conditions

Training may take place outdoors.

Weather, field conditions, heat, cold, snow, rain, smoke, air quality, lightning, or other environmental conditions may make training unsafe or impractical.

Verhoven Next Gen may modify, postpone, relocate, or cancel a session where reasonably necessary for safety.

21. Third-party facilities

Training may take place at fields or facilities that are operated by third parties.

Participants must comply with reasonable facility rules.

Facility availability may change for reasons outside Verhoven Next Gen's control.

Where a material change affects an existing paid program, applicable contractual and statutory rights continue to apply.

22. Athlete responsibilities

Athletes are expected to:

  • arrive on time;
  • bring appropriate footwear;
  • wear appropriate athletic clothing;
  • bring water;
  • bring required protective equipment;
  • follow reasonable coaching instructions;
  • follow safety instructions;
  • use equipment appropriately;
  • treat others respectfully; and
  • notify the coach of circumstances that may materially affect safe participation.

23. Health and physical participation

Football training involves physical exertion.

Athletes and, where applicable, parents or guardians are responsible for considering whether the athlete is reasonably able to participate.

You should inform the coach of an injury, restriction, or condition that may materially affect safe participation.

Athletes should not participate where doing so would create an unreasonable risk to themselves or others.

A coach may modify, pause, or stop an activity where the coach reasonably believes continued participation would be unsafe.

Nothing in these Terms constitutes medical advice.

24. Emergencies

Where an athlete appears to require urgent medical assistance, Verhoven Next Gen may take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances, including contacting:

  • the athlete's parent or guardian;
  • an emergency contact;
  • facility staff; or
  • emergency services.

Any emergency response will depend on the circumstances and available information.

25. Inherent risks

Football and athletic training involve inherent risks. These may include:

  • slips;
  • trips;
  • falls;
  • sprains;
  • strains;
  • collision with another participant;
  • contact with footballs or equipment;
  • impact with playing surfaces;
  • overexertion;
  • weather-related conditions; and
  • other ordinary risks associated with football and physical training.

Participants voluntarily taking part in training acknowledge that such ordinary risks cannot be entirely eliminated.

For minors, a parent or legal guardian may acknowledge these risks on the athlete's behalf to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms removes a legal right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

26. Coaching services

Verhoven Next Gen will provide coaching services with reasonable care appropriate to the service purchased.

Training may focus on areas such as:

  • technical development;
  • ball mastery;
  • passing;
  • receiving;
  • finishing;
  • movement;
  • speed;
  • agility;
  • decision-making;
  • confidence;
  • tactical understanding; and
  • individual development.

Exact training content may be adapted to the athlete's level, objectives, and development needs.

27. No guarantee of sporting results

Athletic development depends on many factors outside Verhoven Next Gen's control.

We do not guarantee:

  • team selection;
  • club selection;
  • academy admission;
  • scholarship offers;
  • university recruitment;
  • professional contracts;
  • trial invitations;
  • starting positions;
  • playing time;
  • specific statistical performance;
  • selection by coaches or scouts; or
  • a specific level of improvement within a particular period.

Any reference to professional, academy, BCSPL, collegiate, university, or similar pathways is descriptive and does not constitute a guarantee of advancement.

28. Athlete conduct

Verhoven Next Gen aims to maintain a safe, respectful, and development-focused training environment.

Serious or repeated conduct issues may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of participation. Examples include:

  • abusive behaviour;
  • threats;
  • harassment;
  • discriminatory conduct;
  • deliberate dangerous behaviour;
  • damage to property;
  • bullying;
  • substantial disruption of training; or
  • repeated refusal to follow reasonable safety instructions.

Any financial consequences of termination will be determined according to the circumstances, the program agreement, and applicable law.

29. Parent and guardian conduct

Parents and guardians are expected to treat athletes, coaches, other parents, facility staff, and members of the public with reasonable respect.

Serious abusive, threatening, or unsafe behaviour by an accompanying adult may result in reasonable restrictions on attendance or other action necessary to protect the training environment.

Any termination of a paid service remains subject to applicable contractual and statutory rights.

30. Observation of training

Parents or guardians may be permitted to observe sessions depending on:

  • the facility;
  • coach requirements;
  • athlete development needs;
  • safety; and
  • operational circumstances.

Observation is not guaranteed at every venue.

31. Photos and video for coaching

Training may be photographed or recorded where reasonably useful for:

  • technical review;
  • coaching feedback;
  • movement analysis;
  • game or training analysis; or
  • development tracking.

Such content will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

32. Promotional photos and video

Public or promotional use of an identifiable athlete's image, video, name, testimonial, or likeness will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

Where consent is required, appropriate permission will be obtained. For minors, parent or guardian authorization may be required.

Optional promotional consent is not a condition of participation unless the promotional activity is genuinely necessary for the specific service and legally permissible.

33. Game footage

Athletes may provide game footage for review.

By providing footage, the person submitting it confirms that they are permitted to provide the material for the intended coaching purpose.

We may use the footage to:

  • analyze performance;
  • identify technical issues;
  • provide feedback;
  • provide tactical feedback; and
  • support player development.

Submission does not transfer ownership of the athlete's original content to Verhoven Next Gen.

34. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, original Verhoven Next Gen materials may be protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights. This may include:

  • website content;
  • branding;
  • logos;
  • graphics;
  • written training materials;
  • videos;
  • photographs;
  • coaching resources; and
  • program materials.

You may not reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit protected materials without permission except where permitted by law.

35. Website use

You must not:

  • use the website unlawfully;
  • attempt unauthorized access;
  • introduce malicious code;
  • disrupt website security;
  • impersonate another person;
  • submit fraudulent applications;
  • knowingly provide false information; or
  • systematically scrape website content for unauthorized commercial purposes.

36. Website information

We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate. However:

  • schedules may change;
  • coaches may change;
  • facility locations may change;
  • availability may change;
  • prices for future bookings may change; and
  • program details may be updated.

Material terms of a paid booking or program will be confirmed separately.

37. Third-party links and services

The website may contain links to:

  • Instagram;
  • payment providers;
  • booking systems;
  • maps;
  • facilities; or
  • other third-party services.

Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

Verhoven Next Gen is not responsible for the independent operation of third-party websites or services.

38. Payment providers

Payments may be processed through independent providers.

Verhoven Next Gen is not responsible for an independent payment provider's systems or outages, but this does not affect our responsibility to properly account for payments received or refunds legally owing.

39. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Verhoven Next Gen Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law.

40. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Verhoven Next Gen will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss where such liability may lawfully be limited.

Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive rights relating to negligence, consumer protection, minors, or other matters where such rights cannot legally be waived.

41. Force majeure and events outside reasonable control

We will not be responsible for delay or failure to provide services to the extent caused by circumstances reasonably outside our control, including:

  • extreme weather;
  • unsafe fields;
  • wildfire smoke;
  • natural disasters;
  • facility closures;
  • government restrictions;
  • serious emergencies;
  • transportation disruptions; or
  • similar circumstances.

Where reasonably possible, we will attempt to provide an appropriate alternative arrangement.

42. Complaints

Questions or complaints regarding a booking or training program should be submitted using the current contact information on our website.

We will review complaints reasonably and in accordance with applicable contractual and legal obligations.

43. Changes to existing paid programs

We may make reasonable operational changes where necessary.

However, material changes to an existing paid program may give the consumer contractual or statutory rights.

Nothing in these Terms permits Verhoven Next Gen to unilaterally remove a consumer right or materially reduce an agreed service where prohibited by law.

44. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for future use to reflect changes in:

  • services;
  • website functionality;
  • business operations; or
  • law.

The current version will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date.

A later version will not retroactively remove rights that have already accrued under an existing contract.

45. Governing law

These Terms and services are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and applicable federal laws of Canada.

If a mandatory consumer protection rule provides otherwise for a particular dispute, that mandatory rule will prevail.

46. Disputes

The parties are encouraged to first attempt to resolve concerns directly and in good faith.

If a dispute cannot be resolved, available remedies and jurisdiction will be determined by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from using a statutory complaint, tribunal, court, regulatory, or other process that cannot legally be restricted.

47. Severability

If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

48. No waiver of statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms waives, restricts, or excludes a privacy, consumer protection, contractual, or other statutory right that cannot legally be waived, restricted, or excluded.

Where these Terms conflict with mandatory law, mandatory law prevails.
